Yes, you read the title correctly, sort of. No, Larry Flint hasn’t hit the jackpot and swooned Sarah Palin from her beau Todd, and no, Larry Flint hasn’t stumbled upon some hidden cache of Paris Hilton-esque video tapes.
Instead, Larry Flint is using his money and creativity to create what is looking to be one of the most anticipated adult films of 2008, Nailin Paylin.
Before I get into the details of this movie (which is naturally going to be a sticky situation for all sides), here is a safe-for-work version of some of the out-takes:
While some might find this offensive (and it’s not intended for minors), it’s clearly protected speech… for now, at least. I have no doubt that the Palin’s are going to try and stop this flick from being released (rightfully so), but the First Amendment is a powerful thing and Larry Flint has done well with these appeals in the past.
I’m sure there are probably many people out there who are complaining about this, but honestly, I think this is great.
Can anyone else think of another time in history where a conservative has become such an icon in pop-culture? While this isn’t exactly the best form of publicity, I think it’s great that the conservative movement has a woman standing up for our principles that is not only gorgeous, but intelligent at the same time.
As an active member of the conservative movement, if Larry Flint wants to go after one of our rising stars just because she’s a MILF, great, go for it. While this by no means is a conventional form of ideological outreach, the one thing it does is completely shatters the stigma that the conservative movement is one that is only for rich, white, old men.
Sure, Sarah Palin has been getting a lot attention from the media, both good and bad, but it’s helping destroy the old face of the conservative movement, something that has been needed since we lost the majority in 2006.
But honestly, who does the left have that is attractive enough and capable of getting the attention that Sarah Palin has received?
