Controversy:
Philosophy on Governing (from Gubernatorial Campaign Page):
I look forward to building a team that will put Alaskans first! I believe in fairness and inclusion and will call on the public to work together for Alaska’s common good. I refuse to use divisive tactics that polarize us for political gain. As Mayor of Wasilla, the fastest growing area of Alaska; as President of the Alaska Conference of Mayor; as Chair of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission; and as a business owner and mom, I approached issues with a fair, balanced, common sense approach. I love the challenge of hiring and appointing the best people to serve with me and I will bring this positive approach to Alaska as Governor. In building a public service team, my commitment to my home state is to always put Alaskans first and never allow special interests to take advantage of us. I know that government has its place, and it should be limited. My focus is on education, public safety, infrastructure and access to our resources. As manager of our vast public resources, the Governor must act as an effective CEO on behalf of all Alaskans in negotiating the best deals for the state, and I am prepared to tackle that challenge.

She’s sexy.
You left out that she is under investigation for abuse of power for trying to get her sisters ex fired from the State Troopers. And that it was her own Republican run state legislature that initiated the investigation.
@ Dadelus - can you please send some links, ideally something objective.
“she’s sexy?” - Great, another informed American voter.
Anyway, she’s been the Mayer of Wasilla. Fantastic and important experience to be the 2nd most powerful person on the planet and one heart attack away from having her fingernail on the button. And Repubs get on Obama for not having experience? Who’s the rookie they just called up? All because she looks good in pics and will help McCain with the Female vote. How cynical and disgusting and calculating. Typical Republican.
@ Jvermont, you bring up a very valid point, but do you think the very fact that she is female will sway enough votes?
@ DC Republican
Sure thing, From the Anchorage Daily News.

McCain Picks Palin…
John McCain energized the race for the presidency by selecting Sarah Palin, the Governor of Alaska, as his running mate. Palin is a conservative who will help firm up support from the base as well as Independents. Palin is the mother of 5 and her ol…
[...] All you need to know about Sarah Palin [...]
This is a very disappointing pick. I had questions if the good senator would live to fullfill his entire term. The VP was an important choice. I really didn’t want to vote for McCain but felt I needed too. So I guess not voting at all means another vote for OBAMA. Good grief. The 2 party system has to go.
So, what do I have to do to become the next VP? Join the PTA, hope to be an appointed city council, run for mayor, then govenor and then in my first term will I be a potential candidate? Or represent a state where we can drill oil and ruin wildlife? Hey, if Mccain croaks will I become President? By the way how many rooms are in the White House cause I got alot of kids?

Go Obama!!!
Maybe to be VP you can plagarize in Law School and Presidential speeches. It worked for Biden
She is a good choice. She will bring in the PUMAs and Reagan Democrata back to the Republican party.
She does have some political attacks going on because she is cleaning house in Alaska, but nothing near as bad as Biden’s plagarizing. But that will not come of anything. It will be forgotten by November.
@ Go Obama!! - first, the vice president resides in the navy observatory - not the white house. second, a lot is spelled with a space in between it.
Third, and most important, Palin is the Chief Executive Officer of a state government - a position that McCain, Obama and Biden have never held. Roosevelt had way more kids than she does - and she is VERY qualified to run the government - because the President doesn’t control all - it’s called three branches of government for a reason.
The World Through My Eyes is also covering Sarah Palin.
McCain’s announcement made my mind up for me. I will be voting Obama/Biden in November. This woman is simply not qualified to occupy the Oval Office. Considering that John McCain is 72 years old, the American people had better make darn sure that his successor is qualified. She might be bright and have a lot of potential, but she is not ready. Not by a long shot.
JHS:
Oh, yes and Obama is?
Being a governor trumps being a part-time Senator with no real accomplishments.
Hope and change? Sure, great slogan but let’s examine the record. Whereas Palin took down the corrupt machine in Alaska, Obama’s did absolutely nothing to clean-up Chicago or Illinois politics. For all his talk Obama is nothing more than glossy image of a human being and a parvenu.
Would you still like to talk about experience?
