Obama adviser suggests Richardson deal

Politico’s Ben Smith made an insightful post looking into an alleged deal between Obama and Richardson stating:

Despite the Obama campaign’s on-the-record denials of a deal between his campaign and Bill Richardson’s, Obama foreign policy adviser Samantha Power appeared to confirm some sort of arrangement on Fox this evening.

“The fact that we got Richardson to basically say his people should turn … ,” she began, before being cut off by the Fox reporter, who said Richardson had flatly denied a deal.

“The good news is not a lot of people have talked to Bill Richardson personally, so perhaps we’ve benefited from the blogosphere in that sense,” said Power, suggesting that Richardson supporters switch their allegiances in response to online reports of the deal.

In watching the CSPAN coverage, this can easily be seen. So whatever was, or wasn’t made, the blogosphere sure made a lot of people think there was some truth to it.
