New video reveals the real reason Claire McCaskill won’t support Kavanaugh
After saying she would vote against Judge Kavanaugh’s confirmation because of his views on dark money, a new video has brought Claire McCaskill’s real intentions to light. Claire never intended to take anyone President Trump nominated to the Supreme Court seriously. Instead, she was focused on working with Chuck Schumer and his allies to turn the Senate blue.
In the video taken just two days after Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy announced he would retire, McCaskill told supporters that it was important for her to win not just for the Senate’s sake, but to have the power to oppose President Trump’s nominees and nominate more liberal justices to the Supreme Court.
“We really have to bear down and deliver the Senate for the Democratic Party,” she said. “That won’t happen if I don’t win. I have to win for that to happen.”
