I don't think there is going to be a "coup," but I can promise you that there WILL be a lot of angry democrats, and he wont have the same response that he had in 2004.

I don't that it will. Once it became obvious that Obama was the front-runner the Democrats found themselves in a bad position.

Sure Hillary has a better chance, but giving her the nomination would alienate the Democrat's biggest constituency, African-Americans, to the point of the party being ruined.

So, it has always been an issue of either losing the election or losing the party.

"Thanks to Obama’s belief in moral relativism there is no such thing as right and wrong or good and evil."

This is the main problem of your argument. It's nation-idolatry. I'm not here to defend Obama or moral relativism. If Adam and Eve taught us anything, it should be that even though right and wrong exist, we live in a fallen world. Permanent corruption exists in every human heart. Obama-types are wrong in suggesting that eveyrone is equally good...but by the same token, Americans often forget that everyone is equally bad. "All men are created equal."

How does this apply to nations? Only the Kingdom of GOD is perfect. (which as Jesus reminded his followers, is "not of this world.")

There is no such thing as an untainted nation. (and if you don't believe in God then moral absolutism is a hard sell.)

Think back to the American Revolution--SLAVERY tainted it! There is no such thing as a "good war" only necessary ones. Once you acknowledge this, you can be honest enough to thoroughly examine and be critical of American policies if need be rather than blindly validating it out of puffed up ignorance and politician-worship.

Humility takes a lot of courage. And truly loving a country often involves being critical of it when it goes against its values. (Our's happened to be clearly defined in the Constitution...both Republicans and Democrats are equally ignorant of this precious document.)

"In the 21st century nations don't invade other nations." ~ John McCain in response to Russia

um so...about the US INVASION of Iraq...

"The Reverend Canon Andrew White, affectionately known as The Vicar of Baghdad, says the situation for Christians in Iraq is "clearly worse" than under the Saddam Hussein regime, toppled by US and Coalition forces in 2003." ~ July 2, 2008

As a Christian, I take that to heart. I'm not justifying Hussein's evil acts, only reminding you that "democracy" has paved the way for extremist Islamic theocrats to be VOTED into power...if you knew anything about the complexities of the Middle East and its Islamic factions, you would know that "democracy" in that region almost always leads to disaster.

Now back to all the Russia/Georgia madness

Pat Buchanan,(who I normally disagree with on many things) gives a rather intelligent breakdown to the extent of America's involvement and hypocrisy in the whole matter.

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2008/08/blowback_from_bear_baiting.html

Here is an alternative perspective on Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili and the fact that he is responsbile for the massacres of thousands of innocent South Osettians...Do we really want a war criminal such as this on board with us in NATO? Should we really be meddling in Putin's decisions?!

Really have to offer a dissenting opinion here. While I admittedly am not completely knowledgeable about all the ins and outs here, I'd wager very, very few people know other than what the major media is saying.

This is not the simple case of, "Russia invaded Georgia and they are evil" that we're hearing. Georgia has not permitted the region and people of Ossetia to have their independence, and there is a fairly solid amount of evidence to suggest that Georgia has themselves engaged in some form of suppression and genocide on the people of Ossetia.

In some aspects, one could make a strong case that Russia is coming to the defense of a smaller group of people which need to be protected from Georgia.

Our foreign policy of the decade has made us more concerned and eager to jump into conflicts between countries which don't directly affect U.S. security, with a number of leaders still shouting of the need to spread democracy around the world.

Instead of yelling and screaming about the abuses in china and russia and how other countries abuse the rights of independence, we would be wise to examine our own foreign policy and get back to making the U.S. a great and prosperous nation. It deserves to be.

Are you serious? Not only have you simplified this conflict, so much to the point that it seems you're assuming the intended audience is utterly ignorant of the situation, but you've injected American politics into this issue.

This is transparently political, and unfortunately while you spit out political garbage, the world has some real issues to take care of. Instead of focusing on trying to keep your party in power(by distorting the whole truth of reality to favor your party) please consider the fact that many of us would like to improve our world.

Honestly, if I presented scenarios to people and reversed the party of individuals involved, you'd be singing a whole new tune.

Sincerely,

You're new political idealist, the extreme moderate.

You're entirely spot on in saying that Putin relishes the thought of an Obama White House. It'll just be a series of threats of UN sanctions, which will be vetoed anyway.

It's a win win for Russia. They get to do what they want, and they get to see the US crumble

The prospects of this guy as Commander-In-Cheif given the current world tensions is frightening. This dolt actually suggested a U.N Security Council resolution condemning Russian action on Georgia forgetting Russia is one of the four powers that has veto power in the Security Council !!

Obama is the "Wooden Horse" of Troy, only this wooden horse is the stooge for the Middle East. The Arab world is pu ping funds into his election effort. With one of their own in the position of Commander in Chief of our armed forces they could do as they pleased with no threat from anyone. I don't understand the attraction. This guy reminds me of the village idiot who entertained everyone, but was capable of nothing. We have too many liberals and illegals in this country, time to clean up.
