@ Dan Michalski, I agree, but for some reason that religious right thinks that they can use whatever they want as a bargaining chip to see things as “their way or no the highway”

The one problem that I see is that Barney Frank is biggest pusher of this bill. I wouldn’t be shocked if this mobilizes the Tony Perkins crowd even more just because of who Barney Frank is.

This is not about moral issues … this is about “sensible government” … either we spend a lot of money to ineffectively attempt to enforce the poorly written UIGEA, or we support legislation that ultimately does a better job of protecting citizens and generates tons of revenue for the country in the process.

I don’t really care much about gambling, but I have Grassley in my google alerts and saw his name come by.

It’s about damn time. I love how Congress just caves into the “might” of Jim Dobson and does whatever he says.

I’m glad Frist is gone, but it looks like we’re still having to undo the mess he created.
